History of Primary Tuition Services
Primary Tuition Services began in 200? .
In 1995, after 10 years teaching in schools, I took a career break to start a family.
In 1999 I started to tutor a couple of pupils on a Saturday morning either in my home or theirs.
As my children grew older I was able to take on work in the evenings and eventually after school as well.
In 200? I launched Primary Tuition Services and have created a successful business with a reputation for helping children gain confidence in their own ability and have a thorough understanding in both Maths and English.
Many of my pupils come through referrals from previous clients who have recommended me to others.

In June 2017 I appointed an experienced Primary teacher to Primary Tuition Services to help with increasing demand. Since then, I have continued to need further support. Currently that support is provided by Yana Williams and Heather Prest.
All tutors are DBS checked.

I have three children of my own who have all been through first, middle and upper schools in the local area. As a supply teacher I have a number of teacher contacts within my local schools which means that if the parent wishes, I would be happy to liaise with their child's teacher.
I currently work as a supply teacher across the local area.
I have lived in Wimborne since 1990 and have been involved with the schools that my children attended as both a parent helper and governor.
I am an experienced teacher with a total of over 30 years of teaching either in schools or as a private tutor.
I have had recent classroom experience in Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth primary and middle schools as well as experience of a wide age range over my teaching career.
I have taught most primary subjects but have particular expertise in maths and English.
I have taught children with S.E.N. within mainstream schools.
I am an enthusiastic, bubbly teacher with 25 years of teaching experience. I have taught in many of the local first schools in Wimborne, Bournemouth and Poole; both as a supply teacher and a class teacher on long and short term contracts. I have taught across the primary age range from nursery up to year 6.
Currently I am leading intervention sessions in school where I support children in both maths and English either one-to- one or in small groups.
I believe that children learn in a variety of ways and by using a mixture of strategies and by making the learning focused, practical and fun.
I have lived in Wimborne for 25 years and am a mother of four children who have all attended local first, middle and upper schools.
I would be very happy to liaise with the child's class teacher if it would be useful for the child.
Building a positive relationship with a child and seeing them grow in confidence and skill as they enjoy their learning, is why I love to teach. Having taught children in years 5 and 6 in local middle schools over the last 25 years, I have seen how children thrive in an environment where they feel safe, valued and challenged.
Over the last 10 years, as well as teaching in the classroom, I have specialised in teaching maths and English to children of varying abilities on a one-to-one basis. Teachers often comment how this extra support, meeting the child's specific needs, has resulted in the child's increased confidence and motivation within the classroom. If a parent would like me to liaise with their child's teacher about targets to work towards, I am happy to do so.
In year 5 and 6, we build skills ready for SATs and I seek to do this using a wide range of activities so that children will experience success and have fun along the way.
I live in Wimborne and am a mum to two grown up children who used to attend local schools.
I look forward to meeting you and your child if you feel that I can help your child in their learning journey.
